Spring

The river is still high and cascading over the now hidden rocks where normally it playfully tumbles. Last year it didn’t rain for nine months but has been making up for it in recently.

The view from our window shows a hillside covered in a variety of trees, none of which I know the name of.

There are small trees with light silver green leaves that are my indicator of the wind. They move quite alarmingly when the wind is blowing but subside quickly when it drops, a good sign whether to leave the house or not.

There is a sense that Spring is beginning to show its hand. The sky is not so grey, the wind is not so cold, and small flowers are beginning to raise their heads. Still raining though.

This does feel good after a relatively long and cold winter.
